This new installer simplifies the process of setting up Miniconda and configuring Open WebUI for use, making it easier than ever to get started with Open WebUI on your system.

As we continue to advocate for accessible, user-owned AI solutions, Open WebUI remains a compelling open-source alternative to proprietary AI platforms like ChatGPT. However, we recognize that technical barriers like environment setup can be challenging.

That’s why we’ve developed the Open WebUI Conda Installer: a straightforward tool to automate the setup process, allowing users to configure and run Open WebUI with minimal effort.

  • Automated Miniconda Installation: Downloads and installs Miniconda if not already installed.
  • Environment Setup: Automatically creates a Conda environment with Python 3.11 and installs Open WebUI.
  • One-Click Updates: Easily update Open WebUI to the latest version.
  • Server Management: Start, stop, and manage the Open WebUI server directly from the interface.
  • Desktop Shortcut Creation: Optionally create a shortcut for quick access to Open WebUI.
  • Detailed Logs: Tracks every step of the process, helping with troubleshooting or just understanding what’s happening under the hood.

Getting Started:

  1. Download the Installer: Grab the latest release from our GitHub repository.
  2. Run the Installer: Follow the instructions to install Miniconda, set up the environment, and install Open WebUI.
  3. Launch Open WebUI: Use the “Start Open WebUI” button in the installer to run the server.
  4. Enjoy Open WebUI: Access your Open WebUI instance in your browser at http://localhost:8080.
