GPT4 does not align with the “own” portion our mission of helping people create, control, and benefit from their own digital brain. The reason why is that the system is closed, meaning individuals cannot own the system that OpenAI is providing. We don’t want a company owning our physical brains, and we don’t want companies owning our digital brains either.
However because OpenAI is currently leading the AI race, we want to understand what they are doing so we can impliment the best aspects of their systems into the digital brains that we build and own.
That’s what this thread is for.
@MudassirAqeel I noticed that GPT4 just added this “memory updated” and “updated memory” to chats. Do we know what this is and how it works? Thanks Dave
Yes it’s essentially their idea of long term memory or persistant notes. You can save anything to your memory manually now

Definitely a sign of them trying to move in the direction of having people use this as their digital brain as now they have the memory in addition to the retrieval and the intelligence.
Let the race for individual instead of corporate owned digital brains begin!
